Okay, I give up. I have tried (and failed) to resist collecting this wonderful stuff. You all keep posting your gorgeous Pyrex, and I'm sorry but that's called enabling. :) But until there is a 12-Step program for Pyrexia (someone else's term--was it Vonlipi?), I may as well show you what came home with me this past week.
Besides, it's Vintage Thingie Thursday!
I have been wanting a divided dish, and what with the antique mall having a sale last weekend, I finally bought one. The tag on it said "1958 Pyrex Covered Divided Casserole Dish With Stand." Good to know. This is the Barbed Wire pattern. Love at first sight, I tell ya.
That very night, I used it for taco fixings. Refried black beans on one side and taco meat on the other, if you must know.
And then I found these little whats-its. Are they not adorable? I don't think they're salt & pepper shakers, but maybe for oil and vinegar?
Okay, I actually bought two divided dishes. This one is Pink Daisy.
I do believe a cure for the blues may very well be a piece of pink Py!
The aqua bowl in the Scroll pattern was my mother's. Dad gave it to me last week as we were unpacking some of the moving boxes in his kitchen. I am not sure if the lid is original, but that's how she had used it.
And finally, the tablecloth is a thrift store find from a few months back!
Thanks for visiting today! Be sure to swing by Colorado Lady and see what tempting treasures others have found irresistible!
Oooooo,and ahhhhhhhhhh...and *deep sighs !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful and beautiful Pyrex. I love it all..this is the first time I've seen the barbed wire pattern...I love it, but not as much as the snowflake and scroll. I have a scroll casserole in a strange shade of green.. I had sure rather have it in that pretty pink or blue. Happy VTT,,
have a great weekend and Happy Pyrwx hunting..
I like divided dishes too. Don't use them often, but for some things, there's no substitute. Looks like you got a lovely one, among your other treasures. So cool how your mom's aqua bowl perfectly matches your tablecloth.
ReplyDeleteOh, these patterns are so great, and I don't think I have seen any like these...the tablecloth is great too, so colorful! Have a great VTT!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a lot of old pyrex has been coming out of the woodwork lately. I love it but don't have room to collect it.
ReplyDeleteWhat great pyrex pieces! I love the term pyrexia! The blues are my favorites but that barbed wire one is pretty cool!!
ReplyDeleteI like the barbed wire pattern. My tally now is two divided dishes and zero covers or stands for them. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces!
ReplyDeleteI remember we had those shakers growing up!
Happy VTT!
*hugs*deb
LOVE LOVE LOVE your Pyrex - I've never seen the barb wire one before - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the Pyrex, so many fun colors and designs!
ReplyDeleteSo funny to see people oohing and aahing over pyrex- when I was a kid, it was just what we had to cook with! Our pieces never stayed that nice-looking, either - the patterns always wore off! Your pieces are lovely, though - keep showing them off and I may get a pyrex jones!!
ReplyDeleteHIHIHI! There is no cure for Pyrexia, lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found the Barbed Wire with the cradle and the lid!
The shaker are S&P the oil and vinegar are higher and rounder. If the salt shaker gets plugged up you just twist the top to release.
I've been looking for the Scroll bowl for quite a while...You lucky girl! And you can't get wrong with the White Daisy!
I love your aqua tablecloth as well! well done!
You picked up some very different pieces of Pyrex. Most everyone has some of it and uses. I really enjoyed your post today and the things you featured.
ReplyDeleteOh that Barbed Wire Pyrex is just fantastic...totally shouts 1958! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and designs! The tablecloths are great also!
ReplyDeleteI "heart" pyrex. I would collect it too if I had some place to store it. I love the pink pattern the most :-) Happy VTT!

Cool, retro Pyrex! Love the pink and love the one with the carrier!
ReplyDeleteI am showing some pyrex today. It is so funny. When I was researching the pattern name of my piece, I saw and fell in love with the barbed wire dish. And then an hour later I see yours. Maybe it means I will find one soon. I must go to Goodwill tonight. The hunt is on. Yes I am a Pyrex addict.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun pyrex pieces!

You are just too cute! I think we all could use a 12 step program for our infatuations with our individual collections. But what fun would it be to get rid of it. Great pyrex.

Divided dish! Oh please I need one! Happy VTT!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. I meant to get over here sooner, but things kept popping up. I love your vintage finds.
ReplyDeleteAnother Pyrex pattern that I've never seen before! I love the barbed wire dish, and that gorgeous aqua bowl. I found a couple pyrex bowls at garage sales today, and I can't decide whether to give them to my daughter for her apartment, or keep them for myself!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!
