You guys are awesome with the feedback on the border! Thanks so much. I appreciate your taking the time to chime in with your pick.
Number three was the overwhelming majority. I liked that, but I did like number one as well, with the gray/purple borders. I was hoping hubby would feel strongly about one or the other, but he liked both and didn't really care which way it went. Coming off a 12-hour shift, the most important thing for him was to park himself in the Lazy Boy, not stand around mooning at fabric for long. Can't say I blame him.
So I cut the blue and purple borders, and as I sewed them on last night, I thought, wow, this is great! It didn't seem like there could have been a more ideal choice.
The breeze didn't cooperate with the photo sesh of the flimsy on the clothesline this morning, so we have an "action shot."
Look at that...the ash tree is starting to lose its leaves already. September first, and welcome fall!
Linking to Sarah's Whoop-Whoop party today. Go have a look around, there are always great things to see!
P.S. - It needs a name other than Number Three. I was thinking maybe Bright Pathways. Other ideas?
What a happy finish, P! The brights really work well. You enjoy your holiday weekend ~

Don't you love it when it all comes together so well in the end! Maybe call it Amethyst---that purple really stands out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend;)
I'm lousy with names. I'd probably call it number three. it's beautiful
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteIt actually looks good with the thin strip of blue paired with the purple. The fabrics remind me of soda or jelly....=D
ReplyDeleteAwesome quilt top! Fall already, bah!
ReplyDeleteI missed the post where I could put my 2 cents worth in. I think you did a great job with the blue and purple. They really frame the quilt well.
ReplyDeleteI am sort of fond of #3 for a name. Seems very 007!
Love it! Pretty and bright and happy. I'd name it Pathways³ :) Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI'm using your comment section as a guinea pig to see if my no-reply status has changed. :) Thanks for letting me know! Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteGood choice for border. How neat to finish...get to start something new
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, P.! Names are the hardest - and I'm afraid I don't have a clue on this one! But if something comes to mind, I'll let you know....
ReplyDeleteNicely done! It really brings the purples out of the other fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWhat time Wednesday?
What a delightful finish! I agree that #3 was the best choice...
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is just so happy! I REALLY like the purple border. It is perfect.
