Five 'til Fifty! - Giveaway Day 2

It's the second day of Five 'til Fifty! Five days of giveaways until my 50th birthday. Today you have a chance to win some gorgeous fabric!

Or perhaps my brother could interest you in a used car?

You know, I really shouldn't say such things because he has access to all my ugly duckling photos, which would have you doubled over in laughter. There could be some serious payback, is all I'm sayin'.

The extremely long arms and legs I mentioned yesterday? This was the beginning of the gangliness. I was close to 10 years old here, and perhaps slightly less squinty. Maybe the glasses helped.

Anyway, enough tripping down memory lane. Let's get on with the giveaway!

I fell in love with Lantern Bloom fabric by Erin Michaels when it came out. I've since used it in several quilts and projects, including my niece's graduation quilt, the Wave Runner quilt top, the Climbing Lanterns wall hanging (enjoying UFO status at the moment), and my sister's game bag.

I thought it might be fun to share the love and give you a chance to enjoy some Lantern Bloom fabric too. So I've cut four fat quarters and a charm pack for today's giveaway!

The charm pack includes at least 5 (and often 6-7) of 8 different Lantern Bloom fabrics. You'll get over 45 five-inch precut squares in the charm pack. The four fat quarters are each cut about 19" x 21". All fabric has been prewashed and pressed.

To be entered for the Lantern Bloom fabric giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post. Please be sure to include your contact email if it's not visible in your profile or if you're commenting anonymously. One entry per person per giveaway.

If you missed yesterday's giveaway post, there's still plenty of time to check it out. You have until Sunday, August 8 at noon Central Time to comment on any or all five giveaways. I'll announce the winners on Monday, August 9.

Good luck!

I am going to defer the list of random things about me that I started yesterday, and instead ask for your support for my friend and fellow quilting blogger, Michelle (The Desert Quilter). She and her family had some unexpected sad news on Monday, and they will be going through some difficult days ahead. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Oh, I love the Lantern Bloom line. I am hoarding a tiny bit right now for a project to be determined. I need to find just the right way to highlight the gorgeous colors and patterns. So thanks for having a giveaway! And I also want to thank you for being brave enough to share some of your family photos. They really are a fun glimpse of the (very recent) past. Happy early birthday.

I'll be praying for Michelle and her family - I'm sorry to hear they're going through a bad time. Thanks for letting us know.

Happy almost birthday! I love that fabric, especially the turquoise with the lanterns.

Aren't siblings great? They help us remember all the things we would rather forget.

hahahahaha I love that photo! Too funny! I love going back and looking at old albums of my family. My mom went through a color block phase that cracks me up every time.

This fabric line is amazing! I love how the prints look textured, like they were cut from an oil painting.

I just found your blog today through a comment you left on The Bitchy Stitcher. Thanks again for the awesome giveaway! So generous!

oh my gosh - your post are reminding me of my own family and growing up - I have two years until 50, and I was certainly never so tall (although I always, desperately wished I was - my brothers were tall and my sisters were short, and I was in the middle, I guess hoping to grow was a more attainable goal then shrinking to be short!).

Anyway - I'll send out good thoughts for your friend, too.
