And if you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell you...APRIL FOOL'S!!!!
Oh, how I wish it were all true (except for the non-functioning camera part). It would certainly be more entertaining and exciting than the reality of doctor appointments, traffic jams, and the ordinary day-to-day dealings. Some productive things did happen this week, though, including:
- Daughter M. bought a car, which I was able to facilitate. Ever since then, I've had the Mercury Blues floating through my head. "I'm gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road."
- I made some truly decent meals, including last night's pan-fried fish fillets with homegrown parsnip fries. Around here, you can leave your parsnips, a root vegetable, in the ground over the winter. Dad dug his out of the garden recently. Slice, toss with olive oil, salt & pepper and bake in a hot oven until they start to brown. Mm, what a delicious spring treat!
- Finished the Iron Work QAL blocks. Ready for the next step!
- Cut out my Hands2Help charity quilt and started sewing strips together. I am making a nine-patch lattice quilt.
Gotta get ready to take supper over to Dad's. Tonight it's sloppy joes, or whatever you call them in your neighborhood. Spanish hamburgers? Loose meat sandwiches?
I love this new song from The Shins, but I find myself wishing it were three times as long as it is. Sorry about the ad first. It's worth the wait!

Great buy on the Pyrex! =D
You totally sucked me in.....
But it's early morning here so that wasn't really hard to do since my brain hasn't kicked in yet !
I wanted to get ikea organizing ideas :) my Mom recently called sloppy joes maderights?! I was like who are you and what did you do with my mother? Sloppy joes sound awesome!
Hi P. I was just reading this when my son called and said Jessica is pregnant again! I hit the ceiling, and then he said, April Fool! Boy was I mad! Then, I continued to read your post and you have one too! Oh My...I do hate this holiday, because I get caught...everytime!!! Love your fabric and the treasures you found also. Hugs
That Pyrex is darling...2 weeks until the local new Goodwill opens..they better be ready for me---lol!
so how much is the bridge?
is it quilted?
can i cruise up and down it with my Merkry ...?
You had me going for a minute there until you said you had finished all your UFOs - then I knew it was an April Fool's joke! But a good one! I love the fabrics you picked for your H2H quilt - very cool!
nice fabrics .. I had just read the google April Fool's post so I had a suspicion that yours was one too. Love the pyrex and your fabrics. My local GW never has anything good.
I was so jealous for a moment! LOL!
Love the colors of those fabrics you've grouped together. Yum!
Yay for your daughter finding a car.
Cool Pyrex find. Just like Easter eggs. :-)
Smarty pants! You got me:)
Yep, sloppy joes here! Love them! The parsnip fries sound good, too.
I see some awesome paisleys! Can't wait so see what materializes! (See what I did there?) Ha!
Ha, ha! I was so impressed that you'd gotten all your UFO's done. I was wondering how many you had though, and was thinking it couldn't be very many unless you'd also hired a full-time staff to take care of you all. Great joke!
I fed my kids ice cream for breakfast yesterday. When we were kids, my mom told us we were having some horrible breakfast on April Fool's Day and when we got to the kitchen, there were big bowls of orange sherbet for breakfast. I figure that once a year won't hurt them ;). Plus my mom did it and I turned out OK.
Love your fabrics! I'm so glad that M. got a car! And I thought your Easter Pyrex hunt was fun! It is a much better prize than an iffy hard-boiled egg.

I am very interested to learn about your patchwork quilt....
Happy Easter..
