Favorite Things Friday - Tea

"Coffee or tea?"

Tea, please.  Preferably decaf, either black or green.  But not Stash green tea because that stuff tastes like spinach.

Earl Grey, if you have it.

But if it's noon, then iced tea with lemon and a packet of Truvia.  Brewed 50/50 caf/decaf, if I'm at home, otherwise whatever you've got.

None of that instant crap, though.  No herbals either.  Except chamomile or ginger if I'm feeling queasy.

Or raspberry, on occasion.  Blueberry, I suppose, would be okay, too.

No clover tea, though.  The one time I had it, I felt like I was having an allergic reaction.

Or peppermint, yuck.  Who wants to drink something that tastes like warm toothpaste?

If it's got a lot of cinnamon in it, I'll have it maybe once or twice a year.  It has a weird aftertaste.

Just decaf black or green is best for me, please.

And I don't like fishing the bag out by hand.  Give me a string and a tag.  Sorry, Celestial Seasonings.  I don't like your green tea either.  I'll drink Lipton or, if I can find it, The Republic of Tea green varieties.

Well, if all you have is Celestial, it'll do.

Okay, so I'm a little high maintenance when it comes to tea, but it is one of my favorite things.

What's your favorite (tea or otherwise)?  Stop by Favourite Things Friday to link or look at more!

Instant tea??? What the hell is that?
I'm with you on the Earl Grey but am not too keen on fruit tea. I'll have it now and again but would rather the peppermint! I Every now and then I find a lovely chamomile and peppermint mix!

Tea is a fave of mine too! Right now, I'm into White Tea w/Blueberry & Pomegranate, Cinnamon Apple Spice for Fall, and always have Rasberry Zinger on hand. Happy FTF!

I love Earl Grey. :-) Although I have recently developed a taste for chamomile. Since I drink tea to calm down, I usually drink decaf.

Cool FTF subject.

For regular black tea it's PG TIps or Trader Joe's English Breakfast. For decaf the Trader Joe's decaf Irish breakfast is surprisingly good. We like Numi breakfast tea as well. Trader Joe's Earl Gray, Bigelow Constant Comment (regular and decaf). plain chamomile (preferably loose as the light herbals can pick up the flavor of the bag). Ginger tea too, but I always make that with fresh ginger root. Oh, and we like a lot of the Tazo teas as well.

I'm not a mint fan but I will drink peppermint for an unsettled stomach, not mint blends.

I like tea, but I admit it's not my favorite drink. I like sage tea, and I like green teas, but in the mornings it's two cups of coffee with cream, no sugar/sweetener. In the afternoons/evenings it's water and Diet Coke. I try to drink at least 64 oz of water a day and limit my Diet Coke to 32 oz (though I admit I have gone over that limit in the past). I avoid fruit juices (I battle my weight as it is. No need to drink calories) unless I'm sick, then it's grapefruit juice.

Ah, the days of watching you pull your tea bag out with your letter opener. I think that was the only thing you used that thing for since all our mail was opened by...what was her name....with the paper clip fetish?

I bought Ed a bunch of that Truvia when I could get it for 99 cents. He doesn't like it. Do you want it? I can send it to you.

Sorry. Didn't mean to write a dissertation on my drinks of choice.

It sucks to get old! I absolutely love coffee. Real coffee, not the decaf junk. But alas, my blood pressure started climbing and since I absolutely refuse to take blood pressure medication, I work on keeping it down naturally. So I now drink tea with habiscis. That is supposed to help keep blood pressure down. Lots of teas have it. And its working. But I am not sure if it is the tea or the fact that I have given up salt and I walk every day! Again...it sucks to get old!

Great Post P!

I cannot come to the party on fruit/flavoured teas at all. Plain black , or a little milk in mine is all I can do.

Chai Latte tea is yuk. And I dont do decaf anything.

I had no idea there was so much tea out there and like Shevvy I want to know what is instant tea? Is it like instant coffee?

I don't like fruit teas either, however I am quite partial to lemongrass tea with or without ginger.
My sister drinks peppermint tea, and I agree with you totally, yuck.
I am quite happy to have a good old English Breakfast tea with milk no sugar.
Me three, what is instant tea?

very clever post - love the peppermint tea comparison! I drink a mug of green tea with mint right before I start chugging my coffee in the mornings. Thanks for sharing - have a good weekend.

P., you are adorable. I love that you like what you like and I totally don't blame you. Everyone deserves to be picky about their creature comforts.

Thanks for dropping by! I am a Lipton addict. Iced tea, plain or w/ a bit of lemon, all day long.
Hot tea makes me queasy. TMI right?

No tea for me! It's coffee in the a.m. and then diet Dr. Pepper later in the day. I've been trying to cut back on the diet soda though so I'm drinking more water.
Saw your comment on my oil can post. I just cleaned the can with soap and water and then I took some 409 cleaner to it after that. The can wasn't very oily on the outside so it seemed to do the trick.
As for attaching the frame....I used a saw tooth hanger on the back of the frame and slid the spout of the oil can under the hanger. You may have to bend the hanger out a bit if you want to slide it further down the spout.
Hope this helps.
Happy Halloween.

I pretty much have to have coffee to get jump started in the morning, but the rest of the day, it's tea in the mug on my desk at work. I love Earl Gray and Bigelow Raspberry. I heartly agree that peppermint is yuk. I haven't yet acquired a taste for green tea yet. What a great FTF!

I do love peppermint (or any toothpasty flavor) or lemon or orange. Cinnamon is ok occasionally, I do agree with you on that.
